Fort Valley Court Docket Searches
The city publishes no anonymous Fort Valley docket search. That limits what you can do from home. EZCourtPay can tell you whether a citation qualifies for online payment or an appearance, but the Municipal Court clerk is the real source for a case record, a court date, or anything filed with the court. Check which court is named on the citation first. A Peach County Probate or Superior case will never surface in a city payment tool.
- Read the citation for Fort Valley Municipal Court, the citation number, date, and charge.
- Use EZCourtPay with the date of birth and citation number or alternate supported identifier.
- Call or email the Municipal Court clerk when the tool has no match or a full docket is needed.
- Use the Request For Court Documents form for a filed item or disposition record.
- Search the proper Peach County clerk only when the case falls outside city jurisdiction or has transferred.
The Municipal Court sits at 204 West Church Street, Fort Valley, GA 31030. Call 478-662-8180 for general questions; the court also uses 478-825-8261 for payment and reset matters. Clerk Roslyn Howell is reachable at rhowell@fortvalleyga.org, and general court email goes to municipalcourt@fortvalleyga.org.
Fort Valley Court Records at City Hall
City Hall and the Municipal Court share one downtown address, 204 West Church Street. So City Hall is the practical stop for a city citation record. It is not the Peach County administrative clerk. It should not be confused with the Superior Clerk elsewhere in the local court system.
The court page posts weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The courtroom is open to the public. Posted dress, device, and conduct rules apply. Bring the citation number and your full name. Add an approximate date and the exact document you want. A quick call can confirm the current counter process. It also tells you whether the clerk will send a record by email or mail.
Inside the Fort Valley Municipal Court
Fort Valley Municipal Court runs without juries. It handles misdemeanor traffic offenses and city ordinance cases. Certain misdemeanors, including drug and shoplifting charges, fall within its authority as well. Judge Chimere Chisolm-Trimble presides. Clerk Roslyn Howell appears on the official city page in her public role.
The city court does not hold every case that arises in Fort Valley. Felonies, divorce, broad civil disputes, equity, and land-title matters belong to Peach County Superior Court. Magistrate takes small claims and dispossessory cases. County misdemeanor traffic can sit in Probate. Court class, not the city name, decides which office holds the record.
Fort Valley Citation Lookup Fields
EZCourtPay is the city's named online citation route. According to Fort Valley, you can pair a date of birth with a citation number or a driver's-license number to see whether a fine is payable. A driver's-license number works alone as well. The live form labels date of birth, citation number, and an alternate last-name path. Those fields support citation and payment tasks. They do not replace a full Fort Valley court docket. The official EZCourtPay form shows the city-linked payment interface used for Fort Valley citations.

The form's narrow fields explain its limits. It may tell you whether a ticket can be paid online, nothing more. It does not expose every filing or order. Case events stay off it too. For the full municipal record, the clerk and the document-request form remain the fallback.
| Channel | Known Input | Best Use |
|---|---|---|
| EZCourtPay | Date of birth plus citation or alternate supported identifier | Payment eligibility and citation lookup |
| Municipal clerk | Name, citation number, date, requested item | Docket, date, status, and records help |
| Document request | Form details confirmed from the live form | Filed court documents and disposition copies |
Finding Fort Valley Court Dates
Fort Valley schedules arraignment and trial sessions on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. The instructions say to arrive before 10:00 a.m. A linked 2025 calendar offers helpful date context. Still, the citation controls, and a recurring Tuesday pattern never replaces the date printed for your particular case.
| Date | The day on the citation or latest written court notice. |
|---|---|
| Time | The scheduled session time; published guidance calls for earlier arrival. |
| Courtroom | Municipal Court at City Hall unless a current notice directs otherwise. |
| Judge | The judicial officer assigned to the municipal setting. |
| Setting Type | Arraignment, trial, compliance, or another court-stated purpose. |
When a citation is unclear, a case is missing from the payment tool, or a reset has been requested, confirm the date with the clerk. A payment result is not proof. It does not show that the court date changed or that the matter closed.
Fort Valley Court Date Resets
The city asks for reset requests at least two business days before court. Email is preferred. Include your full name and date of birth. Add your mailing address, phone number, and case number if you have it. Fort Valley says a one-time continuance may be granted. The new date is often 30 to 60 days out.
A request is not an automatic reset. Keep the clerk's written response, and confirm the new date before the old one passes you by. The city's published instructions were updated in November 2024, but schedules and office procedures shift, so check current practice with the clerk.
Fort Valley Traffic Ticket Lookups
A citation for a city offense lands in Fort Valley Municipal Court. Eligible tickets can be paid early, but only by 5 p.m. the day before court. Expect a wait, too. The city warns that a new citation may take up to ten business days to show up for payment online, by phone, or at the counter.
Paying early counts as a guilty plea. A nolo plea is different. It requires an appearance, the judge can refuse it, Georgia DDS gets notified, and the city allows it just once every five years. Keep two files straight here. The court record and the DDS driver record sit with separate offices.
Certain charges force a court appearance no matter what. The city's list covers DUI and alcohol or drug matters, aggressive or reckless driving, hit-and-run, no insurance, suspended license or registration, racing, shoplifting, concealed weapon, vehicular homicide or serious injury, under-21 offenses, and speeding 17 mph or more above the limit. That list can change, so check the current notice. For the county-wide picture, see the Peach County traffic court records resource.
Fort Valley Court Payment Conflict
The city's own material disagrees about cash. One notice says cash stopped being accepted on May 1, 2024. A later FAQ paragraph says the clerk window still takes it. Don't guess which sentence wins. Call ahead instead of trusting one line over the other.
What's settled is the rest. Cards carry a 5 percent charge, money orders and cashier's checks must be exact, and personal or business checks are refused. Mail goes to Municipal Court Fort Valley, P.O. Box 956, Fort Valley, GA 31030. When the payment portal and the written instructions clash, confirm both the method and the amount with the clerk.
Do not rely on payment alone: A portal receipt does not prove that every Fort Valley court record entry, warrant, or related obligation has cleared.
How Fort Valley Cases Reach the County
Fort Valley Municipal Court can give you a bench trial, decided by a judge alone. A jury trial is beyond its power. The city explains the workaround: request a State misdemeanor jury trial, and the matter transfers to Peach Superior Court, which then sends written notice of the new date.
Docket flow: Fort Valley Municipal Court › Peach County Courts › Peach County Superior Court
Once a case transfers, the municipal citation tool stops being the whole answer. Search with the new court and case number. It will be listed in that written notice. Peach Superior cases run through PeachCourt or a check with the Clerk of Superior Court. For other county-level case types, the Peach County court docket overview points the way. It does not turn the city's record search into a county-wide one.
Fort Valley Court Document Forms
Fort Valley posts a Request For Court Documents form along with forms for discovery, address updates, plea in absentia, public-defender applications, defendant records, and witness subpoenas. Each fits a different task. A docket lookup only indexes an entry. A document request pulls the filing or disposition behind it.
Send open-records requests in person, by mail, or by email; the city handles them in the order received. Include the citation or case number, the document wanted, the approximate date, and whether you want paper or electronic format. Ask about fees before requesting a broad file. If you need certification, say so plainly.
Fort Valley Court Docket Activity
The Georgia Administrative Office of the Courts municipal dashboard reported 1,431 Fort Valley filings and 938 dispositions for 2025. Those are self-reported totals. They count events, not unique people, and they prove neither guilt nor delay in any single case.
Census QuickFacts put Fort Valley at 9,220 residents in 2025, up from a 2020 Census count of 8,780. Citation-heavy municipal activity inflates its own numbers through a different counting method. The figures offer local color. For a question about one case, only the docket and the clerk give a real answer.
Who Can See Fort Valley Court Records
Fort Valley Municipal Court records start from Georgia's presumption of openness, trimmed by exemptions, redaction, and court orders. The court clerk holds the city case. Don't route a municipal request to the Peach County administrative clerk just because both titles include the word clerk.
Key rules:
O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 states Georgia’s public-access policy, subject to lawful exceptions.
O.C.G.A. § 50-18-71 governs inspection, copying, timing, fees, and notice when access is withheld.
O.C.G.A. § 50-18-72 identifies exemptions and special limits that can require redaction or court approval.
An open court does not put every record online. Ask the clerk, and you may get an existing record, a fee estimate, a timetable, a redacted copy, or the legal basis for withholding it. Sealed material and protected personal identifiers stay restricted. A portal view is never a certified copy. Official proof comes only from the Municipal Court clerk.
